Solved! So, after many test this morning I am able to recreate this every single time when on a loose surface and turning. Turning is the key, if I am going straight I don’t have this issue. So I am thinking this is the Toyota version of stability control. It is very abrupt and a complete loss of all power input. Traction control when going straight will apply the brakes so this really threw me off. Hopefully this helps someone else.
Problem: Stryker tune getting random loss of power when accelerating from a stop? If I attempt to accelerate a bit frisky sometimes it will simply lose power. It feels like all fuel is cut off and then will gain power again. Could be due to the fuel pump not having enough flow, some safety feature from Toyota, or something else. To be clear, I never had this issue prior to the tune with or without the magnuson.
Edit: this is only happening when stopped or moving very slowly and accelerating quickly. When this happens I’m a sitting duck for a good couple of seconds before it will accelerate again so for now I just smoothly accelerate and have no issues. Any other time over 30mph when I press the pedal or floor it the 4Runner just goes! Love the tune so far, just a few tweaks would make it perfect.
I tried several times this morning to repeat and could not. Anyone know if this is part of how the Toyota traction control works? I never heard any slipping but it could have been happening.
